The main cause for the unstable pH may be due to the unbalanced system. These include

1. Filter is not large enough. 2. Improper instillation. 3. Wrong filter material.

Nitrogen cycle in the new system is not mature and NO2 content is to high. For old systems, to high NO2, PO4 content could also cause unstable pH value

In the water, Ca or KH hardness is insufficient, the buffering energy is insufficient and the water lacks part of major elements or trace elements. These are all causes for the unstable pH value.
